_DIOGO PROVIN: Brazil's Latest Male Model Sensation!
_ModelWatch is thrilled to launch the profile of Brazilian top male model Diogo _Provin, the first in our Brazilian Hotshots series.
_By Jed Medina, March 2004
Diogo Provin
belongs to that list of male models who got the nod, guidance and influence of one of fashion's most prolific and influential talent manager- Brazil's pride and modeling world's top modelagentur, Sergio Mattos.

After only a month being signed with MegaModels in his hometown in Rio de Janeiro, Diogo went directly to New York where he was signed with Next and later did a photoshoot in Paris with top fashion photographer Mario Testino. The shoot was for a Dolce and Gabbana campaign. Not bad for a starter, not bad at all!

ModelWatch is pleased to announce the launching of our series of 'Brazilian Hotshots', featuring some of Brazil's top male models, starting this March!

...and with Diogo Provin, we start the series with a bang!

-----

MW: Tell us, how did you became a model? Who discovered you?

Diogo: I went to a casting in Porto Alegre and met Sergio Mattos. It was the beginning of my career in modeling since Sergio took a liking in me and was signed in with Mega Models.

After just one month, Sergio and Mega Models sent me to Next Models in New York and did a shooting in Paris with Mario Testino for Dolce &Gabbana.

MW: Was it easy or difficult for you to be convinced to become a model?

Diogo: I never really thought I could make it as a model. That was my opinion before the casting which brought me to Sergio Mattos' attention. Now I feel that I have what it takes to be a model.

MW: Tell us about some of the modeling stints you have done that really made you feel good being a model, perhaps you could list down some of your favorite modeling assignments so far?

Favorite Runway shows: Valentino.

Favorite Editorials, Photoshoots: Sports Street in Milan.

Favorite Fashion Campaigns: Dolce and Gabbana and Byblos.

Favorite Fashion Designers: Calvin Klein.

Favorite Traveling Destinations:New York.

Favorite Models to work with: Jonnathan Haagensen whom I worked with for D&G.

MW: What particular fashion capitals are you interested to explore and be part of its modeling scene? Tell us about your impressions working as a model and working in Milan, Paris and your home in Brazil?

I already went to Paris, Milan and New York where I did some of my best modeling assignments so far. I wish to travel and work in Bracelona and London and experience modeling there, perhaps meet new friends and learn their ways, cultures.
